La Casa De La Salud

Persistence Pays Off

A group of volunteers smiles and poses together at a table. The table cloth notes they are there with the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, and la Casa de la Salud

La Casa De La Salud (LCS) supports the primarily Latino/a/x community in the area of Richmond, VA by providing accurate information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, hosting vaccine clinics, and providing support to community members through every step of the vaccination process. One local business owner didn’t trust the COVID-19 vaccine. After several weeks of encouragement from staff at LCS, he said he would receive the vaccine the next day. But when the next day came, he canceled his appointment. LCS staff didn’t give up and managed to schedule an appointment for him at their upcoming clinic. The staff’s persistence paid off, as this individual not only attended the clinic and got vaccinated, but he also brought five of his employees with him to receive their first doses!
