Partnering for Vaccine Equity (P4VE)
Webinar, entitled "The Social Determinants of Health: What They Are and Why They Matter," discusses social determinants of health (SDOH) and how they affect our risk of infectious disease. Presenter, Dr. Grace Noppert from the University of Michigan, defines SDOH as "the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life. These forces and systems include economic policies and systems, development agendas, social norms, social policies, racism, climate change, and political systems." The webinar concludes with a Q&A session, which offers best practices to organizations seeking to consider social determinants of health in their work promoting vaccine equity. The webinar is about an hour in duration and available in English at What Are SDOH and How They Matter - English | P4VE and Spanish at What Are SDOH and How They Matter - Spanish | P4VE.
