Vaccinate Your Family

Toolkit from Vaccinate Your Family and Día de la Mujer Latina includes a highly engaging "fotonovela" in both video and flyer format that addresses common questions and concerns about getting the COVID-19 vaccine during pregnancy. In the fotonovela a pregnant Latinx woman discusses getting the COVID-19 vaccine while pregnant with her provider. The pregnant woman explains that she has heard "horror stories about how these vaccines have harmed some babies." The provider replies that she realizes "there is a lot of misinformation on social media about the vaccine...when moms get sick with something like COVID or the flu during pregnancy it increases the risk that their baby will be born too early or too small." The fotonovela also addresses the risk of getting COVID-19 while pregnant, how the COVID-19 vaccine works, and what vaccines to get during pregnancy.  Fotonovela's are popular among Spanish-speaking communities and Mexican immigrants. The duration of the video is 3:48 and is available here with Spanish audio and English subtitles: English, Spanish | Vacunas Durante el Embarazo | Vaccinate Your Family.
