Factsheet provides an overview of updated CDC recommendations for the influenza (flu) vaccine for patients who have an egg allergy, had Guillain-Barré syndrome, are pregnant or breastfeeding, had a severe allergic reaction after getting the flu vaccine in the past, have a weakened immune system, or have a loved one with cancer or a weakened immune system. This factsheet emphasizes that patients with many of these medical conditions can safely get the flu vaccine and and encourages flu vaccination. There are two versions of the factsheet: one for patients, which uses plain language, and one for health care providers, which includes more technical scientific language.
