Partnerships Fill Gaps in Community Health

As a successful funding organization committed to improving health access for the uninsured and underinsured, Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (IAFCC) helps foster strategic partnerships to better serve its community.  In the spring of 2023, IAFCC spearheaded the collaboration between two Chicago-based clinics CommunityHealth and Mobile Care Chicago to provide COVID-19 and flu vaccines to both adults and children. Mobile Care is a mobile clinic that works mostly with Chicago Public Schools and serves only children, while CommunityHealth is a free clinic for adults that looks for ways to support its clients’ children.  The two organizations came together at a local health fair to inform the community about vaccines and offer them to both adults and children.  “They each catered to the other’s gaps,” said IAFCC staff member Ariana Aloisio.  “This was a huge win.”
