Keeping Vulnerable Family Members Safe
At a recent food pantry in the Bronx, New York, a woman told Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) staff that their work had saved her grandmother’s life. The woman received COVID-19 test kits from MMCC at an earlier event, and she distributed them to her entire family just before her grandmother’s arrival. The entire family tested positive. When her grandmother arrived, she was isolated and remained COVID-negative throughout the visit. This experience helped the family protect their grandmother, and when the vaccine became available, the entire family signed up to receive it.
