Video provides information on the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a safety monitoring system that studies reports of possible health problems—also called “adverse events”—after vaccination to make sure every vaccine is as safe as possible. Anyone, including patients, parents, caregivers, and healthcare providers can report to VAERS. The CDC and FDA use VAERS to detect early warning signs and unusual patterns after a particular vaccine to provide alerts to the public and take any necessary action.
