Toolkit: Methods for Conducting a Health Needs Assessment
National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM)
Toolkit presents methods for conducting a health needs assessment for Afghan communities in the United States. Health departments, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations can use this toolkit to design and implement public health interventions. The toolkit highlights the following methods: surveys and questionnaires, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, medical and health records review, direct observation and physical examination, and community mapping and participatory approaches. The toolkit also provides information on the best practices when working with refugees, immigrants, and migrants. The toolkit can be accessed here: Methods for Conducting a Health Needs Assessment | NRC-RIM.
