Tool: Case Study of a Community Health Worker Expansion Project
Central District Health Department, Nebraska
Tool describes a local health department's experience implementing a Community Health Worker (CHW) expansion project. The tool describes how the health department identified the need for additional CHWs and their plan for integrating new staff into existing operations. This tool provides local health departments with strategies to incorporate community health workers into their vaccine programs. This project was initiated based on findings from the health department's Rapid Community Assessment (RCA). More information on conducting an RCA is available here: Toolkit: How to Conduct a Rapid Community Assessment to Inform Program Design (English, Spanish, French).
