Report: Analysis of COVID-19 Vaccination and Clinical Outcomes with Patients' Preferred Language
National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM)
Report details a study conducted by the University of Minnesota and HealthPartners Institute that shows differences in COVID-19 vaccination timing and hospitalization and mortality rates between those with a language preference other than English (LPOE) and their English-speaking peers. The report also provides actionable solutions for using data on language preference and interpreter needs, including tailoring linguistically and culturally relevant health education, developing interventions that are culturally appropriate, and fostering relevant community partnerships. The report, along with an open access version of the study, is available here: Analysis: COVID-19 Vaccination and Clinical Outcomes Are Associated with Patients’ Preferred Language | NRC-RIM.
